The Australian Multiple Championship winning Top Bike Team heads to Sydney on 4-6 May 2012, to chase more points in their quest to become three times National Champions.
Matheson has a 168 point lead from his nearest competitor and has won all three Championship Rounds this Season. Top Qualifying in two, with Lowest ET and MPH in three, Matheson and the Nitro Voodoo Team are starting to find their groove in the quest to improve on their current National ET Record of 6.058 seconds over the Quarter Mile.
Matheson said he was keen to up the anti a little and chase the numbers to try to break in to the five second zone.
Matheson said “we have a solid points lead in the Championship, so we can afford to take more risk in track application to try to run a new record number. The whole Team are super keen to end the season on a high and Round 5 in Sydney held 4-6 May is a great opportunity to push the limits.
Matheson said he had good results at Sydney and held the Track Record at 6.147 with a Top Mile per Hour of 224 (370 kph). “I like the Track and the crowds are enthusiastic and always support the bikes. We expect near on a full field in Sydney with big expectations from local racer Chris Porter on his Fraser Motorcycles sponsored Nitro Harley.
Matheson said a strong result in Sydney will be a great final stepping stone for the final Round of the Season being the Winternationals at Ipswich in June.
The Nitro Champs Top Bike Qualifying commences on Saturday from 12.55pm and Sunday racing from 12.12pm
