APRIL 28, 2021 – Australia multiple Top Fuel Motorcycle Champion, Chris Matheson, is poised to run his Nitro Voodoo machine at the upcoming Sydney Nitro Thunder to be held on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of May.
Matheson, “It’s been a while as this is our first competitive 400 Thunder Championship round since November 2019.
“Covid, along with significant rain events had severely impacted on the competition calendar over the recent times.”
However, Matheson and his crew tested at his home track Willowbank Raceway trialling modifications he had made during the long layoff.
“We have made a few changes to the chassis to improve weight distribution which we know will assist in the launch of the machine.
“The signs were encouraging despite a challenging track and intermittent rain showers, said Matheson.
“Sydney has undergone significant improvements including a new track surface and improved braking area. We’ve heard a lot of good things from other racers glowing about the smoothness and the traction on the all-concrete surface.
“The team are keen to run and fine tune the modifications we have made to the bike.
It will be a great event with a number of off-track events which no doubt will attract plenty of enthusiasts.
